MRI Technologist Training : 24-Month Accelerated Path to ARMRIT Certification
Our 24-month accelerated Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist Training Program combines comprehensive classroom instruction with 1,000 hours of supervised clinical training, providing students with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to begin a career in MRI.
Students develop a strong foundation in MRI principles, patient care, anatomy, imaging protocols, and MRI safety while training with experienced instructors and gaining real-world experience in clinical settings. The program is designed to prepare graduates to produce high-quality diagnostic images and work confidently in a variety of healthcare environments.
Upon successful completion of the didactic and clinical components of the program, graduates receive a certificate of completion from Aquarius Institute. The curriculum is designed to provide the educational preparation needed to pursue the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification examination.

What is ARMRIT?
The American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) is a nationally recognized credentialing organization dedicated exclusively to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). ARMRIT establishes certification standards for MRI technologists and administers examinations that assess the knowledge and skills required for professional practice.
Aquarius Institute’s MRI Technologist Training Program is designed to provide students with the classroom instruction, laboratory experience, and clinical education needed to prepare for the ARMRIT certification examination. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates can obtain an ARMRIT certification in just 24 months.
An ARMRIT credential demonstrates a commitment to professional standards and can support employment opportunities in hospitals, outpatient imaging centers, physician practices, and other healthcare settings where MRI services are provided.
Program Breakdown
The lecture portion of the program provides students with the foundational knowledge required for a career in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Through 600 clock hours of classroom instruction, students develop an understanding of MRI physics, anatomy, patient care, imaging procedures, and safety principles that support success in both clinical training and professional practice. The curriculum is divided into six comprehensive courses.
Clinical Internship
Students complete supervised clinical training at affiliated diagnostic imaging centers, and healthcare facilities, where they apply their classroom knowledge in real-world patient care settings while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
Corsmed High-Fidelity MRI Simulation Training
Aquarius Institute enhances traditional classroom instruction by incorporating Corsmed’s high-fidelity MRI simulation platform into the curriculum. This advanced technology provides students with an immersive learning experience that closely replicates the operation of a clinical MRI scanner, allowing them to develop practical skills before entering a clinical environment.
Through realistic patient scenarios and interactive scanning simulations, students gain experience with MRI protocols, image acquisition, patient positioning, parameter selection, and scan optimization. This hands-on approach reinforces classroom concepts while helping students build confidence, critical thinking skills, and clinical decision-making abilities.
Corsmed’s simulation technology enables students to practice a wide variety of MRI examinations in a safe, controlled environment where they can learn through repetition, receive instructor feedback, and refine their techniques without the pressures of a live clinical setting.

Clinical Requirements
Proof of a Hepatitis B vaccination series provided 30 days prior to commencing medical clinical internship tracks (doctor notes or titer analysis).
Procure comprehensive medical malpractice liability insurance prior to assignment.
Possess active healthcare provider level CPR credentials.
Submit clear 2-step Tuberculosis (PPD) screening results or clear chest x-ray history documentation.
Exhibit functional visual acuity, auditory perception, spoken capability, and precise digital manual dexterity to meet nursing tasks.
